The most user friendly system for working with organoids yet
A healthy work life balance is a benefit for you, your results and everyone affected by them.
This fundamental belief was always a part of the process when we first developed our system. It not only gives you reproducibility, a low shear stress environment and reduced depletion zones, it also mimics in vivo functionality.
Equally importantly however, it’s the most user friendly system for working with organoids yet.
Next level organoids made easier than ever
The Celvivo ClinoStar 2 lets you culture your cells in 3D with low shear forces, reduced depletion zones and reproducibility.
It mimics in vivo functionality and allows you to monitor and control your cells remotely from anywhere in the world.
All this and more in a stand alone system anyone can learn to use.

Celvivo Clinostar 2 features
-
CO₂ incubator with 6 independent reactors for culturing next level 3D cells.
-
Built on the clinostat principle which creates suspension by rotating the ClinoReactors™ around an axis ensuring low shear stress.
- The speed of the reactors can be controlled individually with great precision both locally and remotely from anywhere in the world.
- A fan in the chamber ensures proper ventilation and a uniform environment.
-
The built-in UV-C beacon allows for auto decontamination.
- Remote monitoring in real-time is achieved by 6 built-in cameras.
- Push to open mechanism on the front door allows hands free operation for an easier workflow.
-
The front doubles as a whiteboard for easy data sharing and notes.
- A stand alone system with a small footprint which stacks up to 3 units high.

ClinoReactor ®
The ClinoReactor (patent pending) is an all-in-one bioreactor. The front wall of the chamber is also a lid that can be clicked on and off as desired, thus giving full access to the chamber in a petri-dish manner. This can be useful for sampling or adding and removing large constructs.
The vents on top of the ClinoReactor ensure a constant airflow over the membrane, allowing CO₂ to be in equilibrium with the media inside the cell chamber.
The ClinoReactor has a humidification system for minimizing the risks of infections and keeping the volume constant in the incubation chamber. The ClinoReactor has feet, allowing it to stand unsupported, making media exchange easy. Media exchange can be done in just a few minutes through the vial in the top.

Features
- Advanced bioreactor that allows you to culture cells as spheroids.
- Comes single-wrapped.
- A 10 mL growth culture chamber.
- The humidification system consisting of water beads ensures a constant volume of media.
- A semi-permeable membrane ensures that growth media is in equilibrium with the CO₂ content in the incubator.
- The transparent front lid can be removed, giving access to a petri-dish-like cell culture chamber.
- Access ports, together with the stand-up function, allow easy exchange of media.
- The front port allows easy sampling of spheroids.

CelVivo Cloud
The ClinoStar is controlled using the software CelVivo Cloud.
CelVivo Cloud can be accessed remotely from any internet-enabled device. This means you can control your ClinoStars from anywhere.
The software allows you to adjust environmental conditions (CO₂, O₂, temperature) for each ClinoStar unit.
You can also adjust the speed of each bioreactor from 1 to 100 rpm in 0.1 rpm steps (clockwise or anticlockwise).

Any bioreactor can be inspected at any time so you can check how your experiment is progressing and capture images for future publications or documentation.
Are you worried about infections? There’s a UV-C decontamination LED to sweep the ClinoStar clean again.
The software is intuitive and optimized for working in lab conditions (bright lights or with surgical gloves).
With the software, it’s possible to control several – or many (up to 50!) – ClinoStars simultaneously.
Finally, all alarms, actions, and other events are stored in the event log, making it possible to see all events that have occurred on specific occasions.

Christophe Deben
Doc. Assistant Center for Oncological Research, University of Antwerpen
“Expanding Organoids for drug screening has always been a time-consuming and labor-intensive process.
We are astonished by how much faster organoids grow in the ClinoStar and by the ease of use for maintaining long-term cultures”.

Prof. Stine Falsing Pedersen
Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen
“Organoids derived from murine cancer models or patient tumors are valuable tools for precision medicine and drug development, however, the standard culture method is expensive, time-consuming and low-throughput.
We use the CelVivo ClinoStar system to grow spheroids and organoids”.

Marcus Krüger, Dr. rer. Nat.
Otto Von Guericke University, Magdeburg
“With the new ClinoStar, we are able to maintain long-term 3D cell cultures that are used not only for tissue engineering approaches but also to study the complex processes that allow cancer cells to survive as a metastasis.
This is critical for exploring new therapies to destroy cancer cells with metastatic properties”.

Professor Jay Gopalakrishnan
Institute of Human Genetics, Heinrich Heine Universität, Düsseldorf
“Our laboratory is known for dissecting principles of human brain development and decoding disease mechanisms using iPSC-derived brain organoids.
With the ClinoStar, we have been able to generate human brain organoids in a reproducible, easy, and abundant manner with relatively less effort”.

Professor Madhu Dhar
College of Veterinary Medicine, The University of Tennessee Knoxville
“We are using the ClinoStar to culture primary neurospheres with the goal of adding endothelial and mesenchymal stromal cells to produce neural organoids for in vivo application in the regeneration and repair of peripheral nerve injuries”.
